Ace of Disks is a repository for reflection, writing, links and photography spanning the entire range of human experience, with a bent towards the confluence of the technologic and the hermetic.
Sometimes symbols manifest in the strangest of places, and their full meaning only becomes clear much further down the road. The single Tarot card that lay mixed in with the dozens of Catholic bookmarks in my Grandpa Joe’s 60 year-old Bible, gifted to me one year ago, was a fantastic anomaly. Tiding change of some unknown flavor, I could have never guessed the sanctified future it whispered of. And so it sits on the masthead of this newest (ad)venture, which will serve as a vehicle of exploration, creation, and dissemination of all manner of beautiful things, aimed at tangible results felt in the hearts of (wo)men.
It is about the application of principles in the ‘real’ world. We talk about these sorts of things on different levels, and while on one level it is true to say that “we create our own reality” or that “every man and every woman is a star”, it is also true that our reality necessarily interacts with infinite other realities in this multiverse. If we’re paying attention, as we move along our path we progress through archetypal stages. The Ace of Pentacles can represent that point at which previously acquired, hard-fought knowledge and wisdom coalesce to the point that they are naturally, and in readiness, aimed back at the collective reality.
This is a time for re-engagement, for the shamanic hero to accept with grateful humility the gifts he has been given, and to do with them what he is being called to do, in accordance with his True Will, which is necessarily locked in ecstatic dance with the Divine Will. This differs from previous efforts (and rewards!) in that it takes place not just in the mind, not just in the alchemical laboratory, but in the physical and temporal realms previously held at a distance, and perhaps even in contempt. It is a time for answering the Call, and for manifesting tangible results from one’s effort. It is a time, in short, to confidently move forward in a creative state of Loving Will, in anticipation of rich and bountiful harvest, which will be shared by all who have mouths to taste and eyes to see.
